The Betty Club was started in January 2001 in New Orleans, LA (of all places!) when two Bettys were visiting the area from New York City, thought they might take a stroll into The Quarter Stitch, and then decided to spend the next leisure Sunday stitching in a N'Orleans coffee shop.

What do you know, but a tradition was born.

Since then, the bettys meet every few weeks for a leisure afternoon or evening. Not only have they honed their skills at the old-fashioned art of stitching, but they have spent countless hours talking about all sorts of fun, gossipy and useless topics like acid face peels.

Membership to The Betty Club has grown... and there ARE many down the hall waiting to gain access to our coveted clan.

Who knows? Maybe we too will someday have a trunk show at Barney's.
